Estimating Manager

Position Overview
The Estimating Manager is responsible for overseeing the estimating department and ensuring accurate and timely cost estimates for various construction projects. This role involves managing a team of estimators, collaborating with project managers, and utilizing advanced estimating software to deliver competitive bids while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the estimating team to ensure accurate and timely preparation of cost estimates for construction projects.
Utilize estimating software such as Primavera and HeavyBid to generate detailed and precise project estimates.
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather relevant project information and requirements.
Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to determine project scope and cost implications.
Implement best practices in estimating processes and continuously seek improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
Conduct risk analysis to identify potential challenges and develop strategies to mitigate them in estimates.
Prepare and present persuasive proposals and bids to clients, highlighting the value and competitiveness of our services.
Stay updated on industry trends, building codes, and procurement practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness in bids.
Mentor and train junior estimators in effective estimating techniques and tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry.
Proficiency in estimating software, specifically Primavera and HeavyBid.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, cost control, and budgeting principles.
Experience in project management and contract negotiation is preferred.
Familiarity with quantity takeoff and value engineering processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
