Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, from initial case investigation to trial preparation and post-trial activities. This role requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion is essential.

Required Qualifications and Prior Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
  • Strong understanding of the litigation process, including expertise in legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
  • Experience conducting written and telephonic communications with opposing counsel, clients, and court personnel.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and proofreading.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Conduct legal research utilizing tools such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis, and gather relevant information for cases.
  • Draft, review, proofread, file, and serve legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, calendaring, and maintaining case management systems.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials, including binder preparation, exhibit management, and document and witness preparation.
  • Manage case files and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Coordinate and communicate with clients, witnesses, and experts.
  • Summarize depositions, discovery responses, and records.
